AVAILABILITY AND DIMENSIONS OF SILVER BRAZING ALLOYS

Wire	0.5 to 3 mm f in coil.
Rod	All grades f 1 to 5 mm, standard length 500 mm. (Other sizes to order)
Strip / Foil	Minimum thickness 0.1 mm, supplied on coils/cuts.
Preform / Ring	Specially produced to customers specification after consultation with us. Supplied in plastic bags.
Granuels / Powder	Grain size 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm, supplied in plastic jars of phosphorus bearing alloy.

Comments

Alloys suitable for Copper-Copper brazing without Flux. For Brass, the use of Flux is recommended.

SILVER 15 – Low Melting Point. Good flow.

SILVER 6 – Low melting range where temperature is a factor, Fast flow.

SILVER 5 – Same as SILVER 15 and economic.

SILVER 2 – Fill moderate gaps in poorly fit joints, good flow.

Phos.Copper – Low cost alloy with wide melting range and low fluidity.

Comments

General purpose high performance brazing for the majority of assemblies, offers excellent compromise between melting range mechanical properties and flow properties.

SILVER 50 to SILVER 43 are the lowest melting point silver brazing alloys available. All have excellent flow characteristics. The highest joint strength can be obtained with SILVER 50.

SILVER 40 to SILVER 30 are normally considered to be general purpose alloys. They offer good flow characteristics and are suitable for majority of applications.

SILVER 20 and 25 have good filler forming properties. Their wide melting ranges limit their applications.
